Comparison of Different Subliminal Methods

Although subliminal messages have been somewhat controversial ever since they were first used, there are some ways that they can be put to good use for us as individuals.  Many of us use a variety of these subliminal messages in order to overcome bad habits or to train our thinking in one way or another.  The fact of the matter is, there are several different types of subliminal messages that we can choose from, each of which has its own good and bad points.  Here are four different subliminal methods that are commonly used and how each of them can help us in some way or another.

Reverse Messages – although this particular method is not always considered by every one to be effective, there are some people that believe that our mind is able to pick up reverse messages and to hear them.  There are a lot of musicians who use reverse messages in their songs in order to influence the people that listen to them.  It is also used by some others as a form of subliminal messages and it is thought that the brain will try to make sense of anything that it hears once it understands that it is supposed to be heard as a spoken word.

Compression – This is another form of subliminal message that is commonly used in self-help tapes and CDs.  Often, the compressed message is put into the background and all that listener hears is some relaxing music.  Any type of message can be given to the user and it compressed in such a way that the conscious mind is unable to hear it at the speed in which the CD is played.  The unconscious mind, however, is able to pick up on the message and to store it for later use without the conscious mind understanding what is going on.  This seems to be a very effective way in changing the thought pattern of individuals, especially whenever a deep-rooted habit is in place.

Silent Sound – This is a form of subliminal message that is also often played within something that is typically listen to.  It is thought that the United States military has actually used silent sound in its war on Iraq.  There are several different things that can be done with silent sound including giving instructions to individuals in order to manipulate their thoughts in some form or another.  It may also be used to deliver binaural beats that can alter the brain wave patterns of individuals through entrainment training.

Stereo Confusion – Of all of the different types of subliminal methods, this is probably one of the more interesting to study.  In stereo confusion, a different and sometimes conflicting message is played into each ear.  Though this tends to confuse the conscious mind, the unconscious mind is able to easily distinguish the two and to store the information and to make use of it.
