There are some proponents for reverse messages that claim that the message can be understood whenever it is played. The reason why they say that this is the case is because that the brain is going to do everything in its power to understand something whenever it hears it. Although reverse messages may be a very powerful form of subliminal messaging, if it has no effect whatsoever, it is rather useless. More testing is needed on this particular subliminal method.

Compression – This is probably one of the most commonly used forms of subliminal methods. Often, a compressed sound is placed into the background on a CD that contains some music. An individual will listen to the CD in the hopes that their subconscious mind will pick up on the subliminal message and store it for later use. The most common uses for compression messages is in self-help CDs in order to help an individual to overcome a bad habit or to retrain their thinking.

Silent Sound – This particular method has apparently been used by the United States military in order to alter the thinking of enemy troops. By using silent sound, you can either convey a message to an individual that is not heard by their conscious mind or you can even use binaural beats in order to alter their brain waves. This is apparently a very effective way of using subliminal messages but it may be difficult for an individual to use it without the proper technology. Most companies favor compression rather than silent sound whenever it comes to using subliminal messages for the general public.

Stereo Confusion – This is a very interesting form of subliminal message. In Stereo confusion, a different and sometimes conflicting messages played into each ear and it is very difficult for the conscious mind to be able to distinguish between the two. The unconscious mind, however, is able to sort the information out and to make use of it. Although this is a very powerful form of subliminal messaging, it is not the most convenient because an individual would have to wear a headset in order for it to be effective.
